Testosterone 101

Testosterone is one of the most impactful hormones in the human body. Testosterone is traditionally thought of as the “male sex hormone,” as men produce large amounts of it in their testes.

Indeed, testosterone plays a huge role in men’s overall growth and development. It regulates our muscle mass and strength, our immune system, our mood, and our overall sense of well-being.

Here at Testosterone.org, we believe it is critical for men of all ages to be aware of their total testosterone levels, and take actions to maximize their body’s natural testosterone production.

This isn’t just our opinion though – the latest scientific research shows optimal testosterone levels play a huge role in improving men’s:

  • Muscle mass
  • Muscle strength
  • Recovery ability
  • Bone mass
  • Body fat distribution
  • Immune system
  • Sexual performance
  • Sperm production
  • Mental performance
  • Cardiovascular health

Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with optimal testosterone levels. In fact, many men today have low T and they don’t even know it!

Research shows that men’s testosterone levels have been declining by 1% per year for the past 50+ years [1]!

It isn’t just older men suffering from low T though… research shows that many men in their 20s and 30s are also suffering from low T [2, 3, 4]. In fact, one study showed that many younger firefighters are actually suffering from declining testosterone levels and they don’t even know it [5]!

Some people believe that having low T is not a big deal, or “just a part of getting older.” Nothing could be further from the truth!

In reality testosterone plays a huge role in men’s overall physical and mental health [6, 7].

Research shows that men with low T are at increased risk for [8, 9, 10]:

  • Reduced bone density
  • Reduced muscle mass
  • Reduced muscle strength
  • Increased body fat levels
  • Impaired sexual performance
  • Impaired cardiovascular health
  • Increased risk for type 2 diabetes

…The list goes on and on!

The bottom line is any man serious about maximizing their overall quality of life MUST get their testosterone levels checked. They are that important!

What is TRT?

Testosterone replacement therapy is considered the “gold standard” treatment option for treating men with low T.

The primary goal of testosterone therapy, or TRT, is to raise men’s total testosterone levels to the high end of the healthy, normal range.

In other words, you are supplementing your body’s natural testosterone production with a prescription testosterone medication, which will help you feel like a new man.

It’s important to note that testosterone therapy is extremely safe, and has nothing to do with anabolic steroids. In fact, research shows that TRT is an extremely safe and effective treatment strategy for raising men’s testosterone levels [11, 12, 13].

The latest research studies shows that TRT has a wide array of benefits, including [14, 15, 16]:

  • Increased muscle mass
  • Faster recovery from workouts
  • Improved sexual performance
  • Improved mental health
  • Improved energy levels

…And much more!

Many older and younger men report that getting started on testosterone therapy was one of the best decisions they’ve ever made.

Older men report feeling up to 20 years younger, while younger men finally feel like the man they were meant to be.

Best of all, TRT has virtually no side effects – especially when performed under the supervision of an experienced testosterone doctor [17].

What is TRT Reddit?

Testosterone replacement therapy can be a confusing topic.

Most men know that TRT has the potential to completely change their lives, including how they look and feel. However, here at Testosterone.org we understand that testosterone therapy can be a confusing topic.

Many men have questions about TRT, including:

  • How does TRT actually work?
  • Is TRT actually safe and effective?
  • How fast can I expect results on TRT?

…And much more.

Fortunately, the popular online community called Reddit started their own TRT forum called “TRT Reddit.” [18].

TRT Reddit was started on June 15th, 2008. Today it is one of the most popular online TRT forums in the world, with more than 16,000 registered members and hundreds of thousands of monthly readers.

At TRT Reddit users are able to share their results while on testosterone therapy, including their bloodwork and the benefits they have personally experienced.

Many users also share their own personal experiences with getting started on TRT, including their experiences finding a qualified doctor and dealing with insurance claims.

Most of the users on TRT Reddit are from the United States, so anyone living in American will find this online forum especially useful.

Unfortunately, we were not able to find any comprehensive guides on TRT at the TRT Reddit forum. Instead, it appears to be a forum where users ask their questions related to testosterone therapy, and anonymous users provide their own answers to these questions.

Is Reddit TRT Information Reliable?

Many people choose to use Reddit TRT as their primary source of information regarding testosterone therapy.

They go to this online forum to get all of their questions answered, including how to find a reputable TRT doctor, how to optimize their bloodwork, and how to optimize their testosterone dosage throughout the week.

But is this really a good idea?

Is Reddit TRT actually a reliable source of information, and the best place to get your TRT related questions answered? Or is it just another sketchy online forum where anonymous users provide questions to complex medical questions?

Based on extensive research, our team here at Testosterone.org has come to the following conclusion:

No, Reddit TRT is NOT a reliable source of information.

There are several reasons for this:

  • Lack of beginner guides for TRT
  • Opinions are not supported by research studies
  • Anonymous users with unknown credentials are answering questions

First of all, Reddit TRT does not have any user-friendly guides that would help a beginner get started on their TRT journey.

Helpful beginner guides are especially important, as most people interested in getting started on TRT could be classified as beginners. More importantly, we were unable to find any research studies supporting the claims on Reddit TRT.

Here at Testosterone.org, we believe it’s important to provide science-based information on TRT, with all of our claims properly supported by scientific studies.

We were unable to find any studies at all supporting most of the information presented at Reddit TRT. Finally, Reddit TRT is filled with anonymous users answering questions. This means it is impossible to verify any of the users’ credentials.

For all we know, the forum could be filled with unqualified individuals providing answers for complex medical information.

For users serious about finding high-quality, research-based information on TRT, we recommend using more reliable online resources, including WebMD and Testosterone.org.

How to Get On TRT

Are you suffering from signs and symptoms of low T, including low energy, low confidence levels, and impaired sexual performance? Are you interested in getting on TRT and transforming every aspect of your life?

Then continue reading…

Getting on TRT doesn’t have to be a complicated topic. There are two main ways to get started with TRT:

  • Work with an in-person clinic
  • Work with an online clinic

For many people the hardest part about getting started with TRT is talking to their doctor.

Many doctors in the United States believe that low T in men is normal and doesn’t require medial intervention. For this reason, we believe working with a reliable online TRT clinic is a better option for most individuals.

Online TRT clinics work exactly the same way as a regular clinic. The only difference is you talk to your doctor using Telehealth technologies like video calls and e-mail.

Regardless of whether you choose to use an in-person TRT clinic, or an online clinic, the steps are basically the same:

  • Talk to your doctor about your signs and symptoms of low T
  • Perform a blood test to measure your exact testosterone levels
  • Go over the results with your doctor, including whether you actually have low T
  • Begin using your prescription testosterone medication, as outlined by your doctor

Of course, we have our own opinions on the best online TRT clinics in 2023…

Best Online TRT Clinic | 2023 Edition

Here at Testosterone.org, we’ve tested dozens of online TRT clinics operating in the United States. Many of these clinics were underwhelming, with poor customer service and inexperienced TRT doctors.

Fortunately, we were able to find one online TRT clinic that exceeded all of our expectations: Fountain TRT.

Fountain TRT was founded by Dr. Doron Stember, a board-certified Urologist with over 10 years treating men with low testosterone levels.

We like Fountain TRT because they use a simple 3-step process with all of their patients:

  • Step #1: Talk to your doctor about your signs and symptoms of low T
  • Step #2: Perform a blood test to measure your exact testosterone levels
  • Step #3: Begin using your prescription testosterone medication, as outlined by your doctor

Fountain TRT uses a testosterone cream with all of their patients, so you never have to worry about needles or injections.

Fountain TRT’s testosterone cream is very easy to use, and has virtually zero side effects [19, 20, 21].

Best of all, it works just as well as traditional testosterone injections [22, 23]. In fact, many men find the cream works better than traditional injections, and wish they tried it sooner!

If you are interested in learning more about TRT, then we can’t recommend Fountain TRT highly enough. Here is where you can learn more:

Legal TRT Alternatives

Are you interested in raising your testosterone levels naturally, without using testosterone replacement therapy?

The truth is there are many different strategies you can use to raise your natural testosterone levels.

These strategies won’t be as effective as a legit TRT protocol, but if you are just looking to raise your testosterone levels by 100-200 points, then a natural solution may be all you need.

The truth is there are a variety of lifestyle changes that you can make to raise your T levels, including:

  • Losing body fat [24]
  • Getting more sleep [25]
  • Improving your diet [26]
  • Lift weights [27]
  • Train fight sports [28]

Losing body fat and improving your sleep habits are probably the 2 easiest ways to improve your testosterone levels.

Research shows that leaner people tend to have higher testosterone levels, and the act of losing excess body fat on its own will improve your overall hormonal profile. Getting 7-8 hours of quality sleep every night is another great strategy that you can try.

Finally, you can try eating testosterone-boosting foods like oysters, lifting weights, or even training fight sports.

Here at Testosterone.org, we don’t really recommend over-the-counter testosterone boosting supplements, as they aren’t that effective. However, if you really want to go this route then you can try the following supplements:

  • Fadogia Agrestis [29]
  • Ashwagandha [30, 31]

Both of these supplements have been show to produce a small but statistically significant increase in testosterone levels.

If you are truly serious about raising your testosterone production, but you aren’t ready to try TRT (for whatever reason), then you may be interested in a new product called Maximus Tribe.

This is a natural testosterone boosting product that has been clinically proven to raise men’s testosterone levels hundreds of points! Unlike most over the counter test boosters, Maximus Tribe is a research-based formula with virtually zero side effects.

TRT Reddit | Legit or Dangerous?

So what’s the verdict… is TRT reddit legit or dangerous?

Based on our research, TRT reddit is NOT a reliable source of information for testosterone replacement therapy.

This reddit forum exists so users can ask questions about their testosterone levels, TRT clinics, and their TRT protocols. However, none of the opinions voiced on this forum are backed by scientific studies or research papers, which means the information on TRT reddit is unreliable.

We were also unable to verify the credentials of any of the users on TRT reddit, as it is an anonymous forum where anyone can voice their opinions.

Overall, we recommend sticking with trusted, research-based websites like WebMD and Testosterone.org for all things TRT related.

If you are ready to get started with TRT, then speaking with one of the highly qualified TRT doctors at Fountain TRT is a great first step.

Millions of men all over the United States have used TRT to transform their lives and feel 10-20 years younger… will you be next?
