What is Testosterone Therapy?

Did you know that testosterone replacement therapy is one of the fastest growing medical treatments in cities like San Francisco? It seems like every year another high-quality TRT clinic is opening its doors to people of the Bay Area.

The primary goal of testosterone replacement therapy is to raise men’s testosterone levels to the high end of the healthy, normal range. This eliminates men’s symptoms of low testosterone, and gives them a wide range of mental and physical health benefits.

It’s important to mention that testosterone therapy is completely different from something like anabolic steroids.

Testosterone therapy is a safe and effective way to raise a man’s testosterone levels to the high end of the normal range, and eliminate their low T symptoms. On the other hand, anabolic steroids are used to raise the muscle-building hormones to extremely high or dangerous levels [1].

Here are some of the biggest benefits of testosterone replacement therapy [2, 3, 4]:

  • Improved bone density
  • Improved body composition
  • Enhanced cardiovascular health
  • Improved day-to-day mood
  • Enhanced overall quality of life

As you can see, testosterone replacement therapy has the potential to make a big difference in your overall health – especially if you are dealing with signs and symptoms of low testosterone. Some patients are nervous about getting started on TRT, as they aren’t sure if it’s safe.

Fortunately, there are numerous studies showing that TRT is an extremely safe treatment option with minimal side effects [5].

Therapy Clinics in San Francisco

What to Look for in a San Francisco Testosterone Clinic?

Testosterone replacement therapy is one of the hottest medical treatments in major cities like San Francisco. TRT clinics are popping up all over the city, but how do you tell the difference between an average clinic, and a great one?

The best San Francisco TRT clinics have the following traits in common:

  • Discusses the pros and cons of TRT, including the experiences of prior patients
  • Performs comprehensive bloodwork to identify the root cause of your low T issue
  • Provides a treatment plan that is 100% customized for you, based on your unique needs

Let’s take a closer look at each of these factors.

The best San Francisco TRT clinics have a diverse staff of experienced TRT doctors, nurses, and physician assistants. If a clinic has doctors with decades of experience helping men with low T, then you know you are in good hands.

A great TRT clinic will also clearly explain the pros and cons of a TRT program, and whether the symptoms you are experiencing are actually related to low testosterone levels.

Finally, the best TRT clinics will perform blood tests to identify the root cause of your low T issue. They will then sue this information to develop a customized treatment plan made specifically for you.

Initially I was skeptical if this service was legitimate. IT IS 100% for real. From the phlebotomists, Nurse Practitioners, to the Physicians everyone has been professional and very accommodating to my schedule. The physician told me to call day or night if I ever have any issues or questions about the treatment that I am getting. She thoroughly reviewed my blood chemistry with me and explained what every level meant and where she would like my levels to be at to receive the most benefit from treatment. Thank you HELIX...I have to admit that I’ve received discounts from Helix MWR; first discount I received from HELIX was $100 off for signing up with the service and the 2nd discount I received was for having to reschedule my initial blood draw because the phlebotomist could not come at the scheduled time due to falling ill in the middle of the day.

I had just made an appointment today for Helix to come to my house, after reading these reviews both on here and the app the consensus is that they charge you, lack communication and will not send the trt for weeks even a month at a time. I’m really bummed because I wanted to work with them badly.

Helix MWR Review #6 of Many: A SeriesGetting Prescriptions by Mail from Helix’s Pharmacy Partner

*Disclosure: I do not work for Helix MWR - I am a real patient. Patients are eligible to receive a discount for writing reviews but they do not incentivize positive reviews over negative reviews. This series of reviews represents my very real experience with the company and my honest opinion of their services. If you’re interested, please find and read the entire series (currently 11 and counting) as they build on each other and I cover a separate topic in each review. As mentioned in my previous reviews, one of my favorite parts of this entire journey with Helix Mobile Wellness Research is that much of the process can be handled without having to leave the house. From the over the phone consultations with physicians, house calls from phlebotomists and nurses, right down to the meds showing up at your door, you can use this service from the comfort of your home. If you’re like me and you hate traffic, finding and paying for parking, sitting in waiting rooms and doctor’s offices, and then fighting traffic home again, and then doing that all over again when it’s time to pick up your meds from a pharmacy, then you too probably wish that every service could be as convenient as using Helix.

Once you go through the consultation, blood tests, physician’s appointments, and orientations it’ll be time to begin your protocol. And the meds will show up right to your home courtesy of APS pharmacy. The meds will be shipped with securely in packaging that includes ice packs and a cooler to keep any temperature sensitive meds safe. (Some of your meds may require refrigeration and some will be stored room temperature.) They will also arrive a with Helix Medication guide and schedule.

Everything you need for your protocol including alcohol wipes, sterile needles for injection, and bacteriostatic water and syringes for mixing medications will all arrive along with your medicines, making it easy and simple for you to set up a case or caddy for your protocol to make sure you have everything you need conveniently in one place. I’ll admit that when my first box arrived, I was a little intimidated by everything, but by the time my next refill came, I was a pro. What felt overwhelming at first had become a smooth part of my daily routine. Each time I have received my meds, they have arrived on time and my prescription has been filled accurately. Each time the box has been carefully packed and has included a generous allotment of sterile alcohol pads and needles. Each shipment has been accompanied with clear instructions on how and when to administer the meds. Every time I fill a prescription from my doctor in recent months, I find myself waiting and waiting on the pharmacy to fill the order. When I finally get a notification that my prescription is ready, I often find myself waiting in line 30-45 minutes to pick up my medicine from my local pharmacy in a major metropolitan city. With Helix, I never have to wait for my meds. They arrive straight to my door. And I never have to worry about my refill’s being processed in a time manner. When it’s time for a refill, Helix notifies me.

If you want to get the medicine you need for testosterone replacement therapy quickly and conveniently without having to battle traffic, find parking, sit in waiting rooms at doctors’ offices, or wait in line at pharmacies, then consider Helix MWR’s absolutely excellent concierge service. I cannot say enough about how convenient it is.
Don’t do business with this company. Read the bad Google reviews and check their App Store reviews also. They charge money and fail to deliver, either right away or after some time. Something happened to this company where they no longer operate in good faith. They trick users into agreeing to deceptive terms and conditions so they can keep charging your card on file without ever delivering on their promises. There are lots of other companies who deliver similar services without the risk of fraud.

Absolutely scam. Horrible customer service. Had an appointment at 8am on Saturday, they sent the prescription to the wrong place, and now they won’t send it anywhere else! $200 down the drain.Edit: This was finally handled, but only AFTER I left a negative review. That is NOT quality customer service!

More like difficult care. This company has no value for your time. Claim fast service but once you pay them your money it is anything but. Impossible to get in touch with doctor, if medication is on back order their attitude is “so what”, we took your money and now you have to wait, 5 business days until we feel like getting back to you. Worst customer experience ever!!!!!! Have no empathy for their patients whatsoever… My advice is to get a doctor who cares about you. It is a scam for fast service.

Online TRT Clinic | Your Best Option?

Testosterone replacement therapy is the “gold standard” treatment option for men suffering from signs and symptoms of low T. Studies show that men with lower testosterone levels experience symptoms like low energy levels, reduced muscle mass, and poor mental health [6, 7, 8].

On the other hand, studies show that men who get started on testosterone therapy experience many health benefits, such as a healthier cardiovascular system, improved performance in the bedroom, and superior energy levels [9, 10, 11, 12].

Unfortunately, many people in San Francisco do not have enough time to visit an in-person TRT clinic. In that case, you may want to check out a high-quality online TRT clinic instead.

Here are some of the major advantages of using an online TRT clinic:

  • Talk to your doctor from your own home, rather than driving to an in-person clinic
  • Easily perform your blood test at a local 3rd party lab facility
  • Review your blood test results with your online TRT doctor as soon as they are available
  • Talk to your doctor about your goals, so he can make a customized treatment plan
  • Wait just a few days for your prescription testosterone medication to show up

Online TRT clinics are a great alternative to traditional in-person clinics.

The main advantage is you can talk to your doctor from the comfort of your own home. Everything else about the process is still the same – you talk to your doctor about your symptoms of low T, and if he agrees that you might have low testosterone, he schedules you for a blood test at a trusted 3rd-party facility.

Your TRT doctor then uses the results of this blood test to develop your personalized treatment plan. He will even ship your prescription testosterone medication directly to your own home!

Let’s say you’re ready to get started with an online TRT clinic. Great! But which online TRT clinic should you choose?

Here at Testosterone.org, we believe that Dr. Doron Stember’s company Fountain TRT is the obvious choice for a reliable, high-quality online TRT clinic.

Fountain TRT uses a simple 3-step process with all their patients:

  • Step #1: An experienced TRT doctor will talk to you about your symptoms of low T.
  • Step #2: You will perform a comprehensive blood test at a partnered lab facility.
  • Step #3: Your doctor will review the results, and if you are a good candidate for TRT, a prescription testosterone medication will be shipped directly to your door.

It doesn’t get any easier than that! As an added bonus, Fountain TRT uses a prescription testosterone cream with all of their patients. The cream is completely painless, but still delivers excellent results for men suffering from symptoms of low T [13, 14].

If you are looking for a reliable online TRT clinic, then we strongly recommend Fountain TRT. Here is where you can learn more:
